At the heart of Europe, Vienna, is a hub for the European Union, in many terms : culture, industry, art, … The city is huge – some days are required only to see it from outside, and if you start entering museums, trying to taste the local specialties, and experience the local life, weeks won’t seem to be enough. To have a “quick” glance at the city, don’t hesitate to use of the several hop on hop off bus tours – for any of them, a full day won’t be enough just to do the whole tour, so, if you plan to make some stops, don’t hesitate to book a ticket for several days. Local specialities are of course a must try : Wiener schnitzel, of course, but also croissants (yes – they are from Vienna, as a French, we even call this kind of pastry ‘Viennoiserie’, literally meaning ‘Viennese stuff’), and coffee – although some would argument about where the first coffee shop was created, and weather it was by an Armenian or a Turkish, it was likely firstly introduced in Vienna. But don’t stop there : Vienna is surely an interesting place for a cultural tour. However, if you’re a party lover, you might feel a bit disappointed. Crowd isn’t very energetic, party places aren’t as good as in other destinations, they are generally overcrowded, and prices might be a no go for many wallets.
