Tahiti nightlife, what to do in Tahiti at night?
Tahiti nightlife
On the small island of Tahiti, it might be difficult to imagine that there is a nightlife... but it is actually pretty good!
Of course, like everything in Tahiti, it is very expensive. Expect a cover of 1000XPF (8€/9$) in a club, and to pay that much for a drink.
The cheapest bottle of French champagne will sell for 10000XPF (80€/90$), and a bottle of rum, vodka, whiskey or other strong alcohol with some mixer will be at around 15000XPF (125€/140$).

Morrison's Café, best club in Tahiti
The best club in Tahiti is by far the Morrison's Café, located on the rooftop of a building, which makes it the only place around with natural air flow... pretty useful when you know that the temperature, even at night, hardly goes below 30°C.
The place usually is overcrowded, and it is recommended to arrive early in order to be sure to enter, as a waiting queue quickly forms by 10/11pm.
Events are regularly organized, and the place is open every day as a restaurant, and as a club on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and some other days depending on the events.
It closes at 3am, therefore expect to go for an after party after that time.

Le Ute Ute nightclub
Another quite good club, which is mostly an afterparty place for the people lucky enough to have entered the Morrison's Café.
The place is a little cheaper than Morrison's, and has enough free space for a few dance steps.
There's plenty of space to take a bottle and sit down somewhere, and even a small terrace in front, mostly for smokers, but also to cool down after getting warm and sweaty on the dancefloor.

Le SUGAR club
Also closing relatively early, the Le SUGAR club is a nice place with good music, on two floors, and with a small terrace in front.
However, the place is also very popular, and easily gets overcrowded, therefore do not expect there to be able to either reach the bar for a drink order, or to move a little on the non existing dancefloor when fully packed.

Other party places in Tahiti
These other places can also be tried at night, however do not expect to find a better ambiance than on the ones mentionned above.

Swim at night under the stars
... and what if one of the best thing to do at night in Tahiti wasn't to go to a club, but to go swim in a swimming pool at night, and watch the stars?
This is even more interesting on that side of the planet, that the proximity to the ecuator, and the remoteness of the island from the rest of the world, makes Tahiti one of the best place in the world to watch the stars, and see the milky way its full glory, far from any world light pollution, with your own eyes only.
