Where Can I Fly Without A Vaccine?

The widespread opinion that “you won’t go anywhere abroad without vaccination now” is nothing more than a myth. The choice of popular tourist destinations where unvaccinated tourists can go is much wider than the list of countries where they are allowed “only with vaccination”.

In fact, in 2022 there are quite a lot of such destinations where you can go without a vaccine, so I decided to collect them all in one big list. Let's consider it in more detail.

List of countries you can fly to without a vaccine

Greece.

Now in this country there are no benefits for tourists. Everyone can enter the country - both vaccinated and unvaccinated, everyone needs a certificate of a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours) or a negative result of an express test (antigen test) not older than 24 hours. Unvaccinated tourists can eat in cafes on open verandas, visit shops outside shopping centers and use public transport.

Egypt.

Unvaccinated citizens can enter Egypt with a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours) or a rapid test (24 hours) taken before departure. It is possible (but not recommended) to go even without a test and instead take an express test for $ 20 right at the airport of arrival.

United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Unvaccinated travelers can enter the main resort emirates (Dubai, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah) with a certificate of a negative PCR test (from February 3, 2022, a test no older than 48 hours is required to enter Dubai). But the emirate of Abu Dhabi has its own rules. You can also come here without a vaccine, but you will have to go into quarantine for 10 days, and you also need a test no older than 48 hours before entry. But, firstly, not all hotels in this emirate are accommodated without a vaccination certificate, and secondly, without it, it will be impossible for the unvaccinated in Abu Dhabi to visit almost all places outside the hotel and even get on a sightseeing bus.

Cuba.

For the entry of vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists who travel through a tour operator, the requirements are the same: everything is free, no one needs any certificates or certificates of PCR tests before departure. Independent tourists without vaccination present only a certificate with a PCR test (not older than 72 hours) on departure. Before departure, everyone needs to complete this online form. How to fill it out can be found here. The PCR test upon arrival has been canceled for everyone. But in theory, rapid tests can be selectively carried out.

Turkey.

Unvaccinated citizens can enter Turkey with a negative PCR test certificate (not older than 72 hours). Instead of a PCR test, you can do a rapid antigen test (48 hours). If you have been vaccinated with any drug, or you have had a disease, you can enter without these certificates at all. The only thing you need before departure is to register on this site and get a special code that is checked when boarding a flight. You will need it to enter shopping malls.

Abkhazia.

This country, neighboring the Krasnodar Territory, accepts all tourists, the presence of a vaccination certificate does not play a role. Moreover, tourists do not need any certificates and tests at all, they do not need to fill out any questionnaires. There is no selective PCR testing. There are no restrictions for unvaccinated tourists inside the country, and in fact there is no mask regime.

Cyprus.

To enter Cyprus, unvaccinated tourists need a certificate of a PCR test made no earlier than 72 hours before departure or an express antigen test (no earlier than 24 hours). From March 1, vaccinated tourists do not need this certificate. Before flying to Cyprus (within 48 hours), everyone needs to fill out a special Cyprus Filght Pass form. However, unvaccinated tourists can eat in cafes and outdoor verandas, visit shops, pharmacies, markets, etc.

Great Britain.

From February 11, 2022, all unvaccinated tourists (including Russian tourists, because vaccines from Russia are not listed) are exempt from quarantine upon arrival. For entry, a covid test before departure is sufficient (done no earlier than 48 hours before arrival). All passengers will still need to complete the PLF within 48 hours prior to departure to England. Upon arrival, you will have to pass another PCR test, no later than on the second day of your stay in the UK. Restrictions for unvaccinated tourists within the country have been lifted.

Mexico.

In this country, too, there is no difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists, everyone can enter. You don't need certificates, tests, or even filling out any online forms to travel. There is no selective PCR testing upon arrival, and there are no restrictions for tourists within the country either.

Maldives.

In the Maldives, having any vaccine certificate is irrelevant. Both unvaccinated and vaccinated tourists must simply present a certificate with negative PCR test results, made no earlier than 96 hours before arrival. Within 24 hours prior to arrival at Male airport, a health declaration (and test result) must be uploaded to this site. There is no need to do a PCR test upon arrival, there are no restrictions for unvaccinated tourists within the country.

Norway.

This country also accepts unvaccinated tourists without quarantine (Russian vaccines are not recognized in Norway). All you need is a certificate with a negative PCR or rapid antigen test done 24 hours before entry. Before departure, you must register in this system. Upon arrival, you must pass a free PCR test, children must also do this.

Dominican Republic.

There are no differences for the entry of vaccinated and unvaccinated people in this country at all, everyone can enter, and no one even needs certificates of PCR tests before departure. Before departure, you only need to fill out an online form. There is no PCR test upon arrival, but in theory, special rapid respiratory tests can be performed selectively. There are practically no restrictions for unvaccinated tourists, entrance with a PCR test to a number of establishments outside hotels.

Seychelles.

The Seychelles also do not divide tourists into vaccinated and unvaccinated, everyone can enter freely. All tourists must have a certificate with the result of a PCR test (not older than 72 hours) or a certificate of a person who has been ill. Within 24 hours prior to arrival at Male airport, a health declaration (and test result) must be uploaded to this site. You must obtain an online travel permit in advance.

Tanzania.

No PCR test, vaccination certificate or antibody test is required to enter this country. You can apply for a Tanzania visa online or at the airport. At the same time, upon arrival in the country, the temperature of all passengers is measured. It is also necessary to fill out a medical observation form, which will be handed over to the port health control authorities. In addition to personal data, it indicates the countries that the passenger has visited in the last three weeks, data on potential contact with infected people and health status.

In conclusion, there are some places where you can fly even without a vaccine!

So far, in Europe, due to the omicron, the intervals between vaccinations are rapidly decreasing. From February 1, 2022, the validity of vaccination certificates allowing you to travel within the EU has been limited to nine months. But states may lay down other rules for domestic use. For example, in Greece and Cyprus, COVID passports are valid for seven months, regardless of the type of vaccine. In Malta, there are three. In Latvia, single-phase vaccinations are relevant for five months, two-component ones - for nine.

Thus, if you want to plan a trip in 2022, it is very important to constantly monitor the situation of morbidity and vaccination not only in your own country (after all, if there are too many infected, the country may fall into the red zone, and you will not be allowed into another country), but also in the one where you are going to fly. It is also worthwhile to clarify in advance the current information regarding certificates and documents for entry - due to the spreading new strain of “omicron”, the situation can change dramatically at any time.
